The Smith & Wesson® Performance Center® 642 Double-Action Revolver is the small .38 special that all small J-frame revolvers are measured by. With a steel barrel and cylinder, the Airweight shaves some ounces off with the aluminum alloy frame. The 642 also features an enhanced double-action trigger pull that is fairly simple to “stage” right before what feels like a single-action trigger. The Model 642 also includes an internal safety lock and keys. The hammer is integral and enclosed for a snag-free design. Still a popular choice backup firearm to law enforcement, the 642 PC also pairs well with a quality pocket holster. The basketweave wood grips add an elegance to the stainless revolver you simply can’t ignore. NOTE: “internal lock” refers to the firearm having a built-in child safety lock that requires an included key to operate the firearm if chosen to keep locked.
